Brainchild of funeral director Robert L. Waltrip, National Museum of Funeral History came into existence in 1992 with a thought of preserving the heritage of death care. This 35,000-sqft museum in Houston, Texas houses a quirky collection that includes vintage funeral treasures, Abraham Lincoln's death mask, fantasy coffins from Ghana, funny custom coffins, the Pope mobile used by Saint John Paul II, caskets and many other historical funeral related antiques and artifacts.
3. Museum of Broken Relationships, Croatia
One of the strangest museums in the world, the Museum of Broken Relationships exhibits a vast collection of memorabilia's of frizzled love stories. This unique museum belongs to Croatian artists, Olinka Vistina and Drazen Grubisic who got separated but found it hard to part with their tokens of love. In 2006, they decided to open the museum to keep these memories of failed relationships alive. There is a vast collection of sentimental objects such as a wedding dress, a small vial of tears, an axe used to chop up an ex-boyfriend’s furniture, a prosthetic leg, a jar of love incense, candy underwear etc. along with personal narratives related to all these donated objects.

This museum in India is the brain-child of Dr. Bindeshwar Pathakhome who is a renowned social activist and the recipient of the prestigious Stockholm Water Prize. He has initiated this museum to display every minute detail about the development of the toilet system in the world for the past five thousand years. Among the collection are the iconic flush pot devised in 1596 by Sir John Harrington, toilet pots made of gold and silver, replica of a treasure chest shaped medieval mobile commode, sewerage system of the Harappan Civilization dating back to 2,500 BC and many other bizarre pots and commodes.

During his early workshops in 1979, a French lady chopped off her hair lock and hung it on the wall. Since then, this tradition of donating a lock of hair by his female workshop attendees began and over the years the collection turned into the largest Museum of Hair in the world.
