By 1803, the Gorkha tribe, under the leadership of Umer Singh Thapa, conquered the Garhwal and Dehra regions, soon after which Mussoorie was established. Then, on November 1, 1814, another war broke out, in which the Britishers emerged as winners.
As a result of this war, by 1815, the Gorkhas were completely excavated from the region. Then, in 1825, a British official, Captain Young, established Mussoorie with a new identity as a chilled-out travel getaway.
In 1901, Acc. to Mussoorie's history, this place had become popular among tourists, and its population reached about 6,461. In the same year, in the summer season, it grew to about 15,000 inhabitants. Railways were also introduced in the region during the same five-year period between 1900 and 1905. Due to this, the travel distance to Mussoorie, which was 93 km (by road), was shortened to about 34 km.

Dehradun Railway Station (DDN) is the nearest railhead from Mussoorie and is situated about 30-35 km away. It was established in 1899 by the Britishers.
