One of the most famous and iconic foods of Rajasthan, a state in western India, is "Dal Baati Churma." This traditional Rajasthani dish consists of three main components:
Dal: It is a lentil curry made from a variety of lentils, usually flavored with spices such as cumin, coriander, and turmeric. The dal is typically thick and flavorful.
Baati: Baati is a round, baked wheat bread that is hard on the outside but soft on the inside. It is traditionally cooked over an open flame or in a tandoor (clay oven). Baatis are often dipped in ghee (clarified butter) before serving.
Churma: Churma is a sweet dish made from coarsely ground wheat flour, ghee, and sugar. It is often flavored with cardamom and sometimes includes chopped nuts. Churma is served alongside the dal and baati.
