History of Barot Valley
The village of Barot came into the limelight when the Shanan Hydroelectric Project was proposed around 1920 in India. 1. River Uhl

Bir Billing is about two hours away from Barot Valley. It is a preferred hub for paragliding to exploring the great Himalayan Valleys from an altitude of about 8,000 feet above sea level.

How to Reach Barot Valley

Air
Kangra Airport is the nearest airport. After reaching the airport, you can hire a bus service to reach the Barot Valley in Himachal.
Rail
The nearest railway station is Kangra Mandir Railway Station. You can then take a bus from the station which might take approximately 3 hours to reach Barot Valley.
Road
The beautiful valley of Uhl, where Barot is located lies at a distance of 40 kilometers from the town of Jogindernagar and 66 kilometers from Mandi. One can avail public buses from Mandi, Jogindernagar, and Palampur to reach Barot. There also are frequent buses plying to Kothikodh, Bada Gran, and Luhardi that pass through Barot.
