History of Rann Utsav
This desert festival was founded in 2006 and was inaugurated by our current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The primary objective of this festival was to attract a Global audience to Gujarat for tourism purposes. This festival initially started out as a three-day event and now, owing to popular demand, it has become almost a 100+ days celebration.
Major Attractions of Rann Utsav 2024 - 2025
The tagline “Banao Apni Rann Ki Nayi Aur Umaang Se Bhari Kahaniyan” suits the fest quite well. During this festival, a whole city of approximately 400 tents is set up. This consists of both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned tents. All of these arrangements are done on the very outskirts of the bordering village known as Dhordo. A great number of tours like Diu tour, Saurashtra tour, Somnath tour, etc. are organized for the people.
Furthermore, there is just so much to do and so much to indulge your senses in when it comes to Rann Utsav. Couples who visit the festival generally go on a date under the moon along with spending quality time in the nearby villages such as Khadva, Bhirandiyra.
