Humans have existed since the Stone Age in the present Jharkhand region. Even the archaeologists have discovered some copper tools from the Chalcolithic period in this land of ancient history. When we got independence in 1947, division of the region took place into three states: Orissa, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Finally, the BJP led a campaign and demanded a whole new state, Jharkhand, and their demand was passed under the Bihar Reorganisation Act.
