1. The government of Rajasthan will launch a mobile application for tourists on 27th September, which is World Tourism Day. The main motive of this app is to provide convenience for the tourists visiting Rajasthan. As per the reports, the application will be made available on the Google play store. The iOS version of the app is also under development and will be introduced as soon as possible. 

Director of Tourism Department, Nishant Jain said, "All information regarding tourist spots, modes of transport and other services will be available through the application... Users will be able to know if the local service provider is registered with the department".

2. The Government of India is planning to issue tourist visas soon in a bid to boost the economy as daily COVID cases in the country have come down. The officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) confirmed the same.

As per the reports, the government is planning to allow only vaccinated people to apply for tourist visas. Referring to this, the official also mentioned that the process will be carried out in a phased manner and as per feasibility.

3. Goan beaches are once again terrorized by tarballs. These greasy, huge black blobs of thick oil across the beach stretch are one of the worst occurrences in Goa. According to reports, these ugly blobs have taken over the most famous beaches in Goa including Anjuna, Miramar, Mandrem, Morjim, and Colva in the south. The incident has left travel stakeholders and fishermen in the region worried.

The flooding of tarballs on the beaches of Goa is a yearly phenomenon. On North and South Goa beaches, a large number of tarballs get collected. The environment minister, Nilesh Cabral said that the Goan government will raise the issue to the Centre again, as they don't have the resources to find out the source of origin of these tarballs.

4. As Malaysia is making efforts to recover from the Coronavirus crises and promote tourism in the region, the country is all set to welcome tourists this week. According to reports, a cluster of 99 islands in the Straits of Malacca, Malaysia’s Langkawi is all geared to reopen for fully vaccinated travelers from September 16 as part of a domestic tourism bubble. However, strict safety protocols will take place to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Reports have it that Malaysia’s reopening plan is similar to Thailand’s, which started with the reopening of Phuket in July, for vaccinated foreign tourists. Like Phuket, Langkawi is also famous for beaches, rock formations, Geoparks, and it’s planning to go slow. 

5. Ireland’s government has announced to restart the processing of short-stay entry visas as it is gearing up its response to the pandemic. As per the sources, Ireland Visa Application Centers in India are now accepting applications for short stays, which may encourage tourists to visit the country for tourism purposes. The short-stay visas allow tourists to travel to Ireland for up to 3 months or 90 days.
