New Interesting And Exciting Opportunities Have Come Up For Travelers!

1. Planning to set up its own cave tourism circuit in Gangolihat, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand is inspired by Slovenia's incredible cave tourism circuit. A set of nine underground caves that could prove to be an amazing tourist attraction, which includes caves that are discovered as recently as in September. 

Thousands of years old caves were surveyed by scientists from the Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC). Saileswar, Gupta Ganga, Vrihad Tung, Mukteshwar, Daneshwar, and Mailchaura areas are covered in this caves circuit. Area’s geotagging will be done next month and more details will come forth.

2. Cuba will welcome travelers without any quarantine restrictions from November 15. In the coming weeks, the COVID-19 restrictions will be relaxed by the Caribbean nation. As per reports, the decision is made after more than 90 percent of Cuba’s population has gotten at least one dose of the vaccine. 

In Cuba, tourism is responsible for more than 10 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). The number went down drastically during the pandemic. In 2019, nearly 4 million people visited the country, and in 2021, only 200,000 people visited Cuba.

3. The Government of the Sultanate of Oman has recognized India-made Covaxin shots for travel without quarantine, in a huge COVID travel development. For Indian nationals vaccinated with Covaxin, the new announcement is going to ease travel to Oman. Till now, only those who are vaccinated with AstraZeneca/Covishield can visit Oman without quarantine.

The Embassy of India in Muscat took to Twitter and said, "COVAXIN has now been added to the approved list of COVID-19 vaccines for travel to Oman without quarantine. This will facilitate travelers from India vaccinated with COVAXIN,"

4. According to the state forest department, the famous Sariska Tiger Reserve could get more zones for tourism. With a lot to explore for tourists, only about five percent of its area remains open for safaris as of now. It is found that the areas that are not included in the safari zones within the reserve are home to the big cats. 

To develop more zones for safari, the forest department has already started working on a 17 km protection route for monitoring. As per the Chief Conservator of Forests, R N Meena, “Soon, proposals to develop new routes will be tabled before the Local Advisory Committee (LAC). During a recent visit, a National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) official has also given in-principle approval to open new routes. We have developed monitoring routes before we open safari routes.”

5. Sri Lanka has decided to launch some interesting campaigns in five countries, including India, France, Britain, Germany, and Russia, in a bid to boost tourism. The Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga made the announcement in which he said the government will introduce some special tourism promotion programs to improve the tourism sector in the country which was shattered due to the COVID-19 condition. 

The minister also mentioned that to implement the special promotion and short and long-term promotions, he has directed authorities to start working as soon as possible. He also said that he had also instructed the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau to do the promotions in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and the Middle East too.
