Rajasthan is a state which is known for its hospitality, rich culture, and regal history. The famous festivals of Rajasthan offer a factual sight of its prosperous inheritance.
Some are to celebrate the ethnicity, some to celebrate the heritage and some are just cultural events. The one thing that remains the same is that each one of them is celebrated for life.
A whole festival dedicated to kite flying! How cool is that? Right? The International Kite Festival is celebrated during the Makar Sakranti. Elephant Festival Jaipur, celebrated every year at Jaipur Polo Ground during Holi, is on this list of festivals of Rajasthan because it is an exhibition of Rajasthani traditions and culture. The elephants are dressed with colorful saddlecloth and jewelry and prepared for shows, races, and competitions. To differentiate female elephants from males, they are made to wear anklets.

Winter Festival in Rajasthan is celebrated to bring artisans and artists from India and all the other countries together in one place. Showcasing art, handicrafts, food, and culture, Winter Festival deserves a place amongst the best festivals of Rajasthan. Known for rejoicing Rajasthani folk culture and traditions for three days, the Summer Festival starts on the day of Buddha Poornima. Other than cultural events, horse races, skating, tug of war, boating races in Nakki Lake, and live band shows making it one of the best festivals of Rajasthan.

This Rajputi avatar of Holi is celebrated a few days before Holi with seeking blessings of Lord Krishna, dance, music, and splashing of colors. Brij Holi is amongst the most popular festivals of Rajasthan in which locals and tourists take a dip in the ghat of Banganga River. To end the festival on a good note, locals visit and offer prayers at Radha Krishna Temple.

The lake-centered town of Pushkar is famous for housing the only temple of Lord Brahma and Pushkar Camel Fair. Rajasthan International Folk Festival or Jodhpur RIFF is an annual cultural event that is being organized in Jodhpur since 2007. Travelers and locals attend RIFF every year on the night of Sharad Purnima at the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.
