Karwa Chauth is an extremely famous fasting ritual adept by married Hindu ladies; to look for the long life and wellbeing of their husbands. On this promising day, women keep a day-long fast and offer a plea to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is thought that the individuals who keep this fast are sanctified with deep-rooted success and a healthy mate. In Indian culture, Hindu women keep this fast for their husbands.
On this day women abstain from food and water, and around evening time after moonrise they break their fasts by reading the 'vrat katha' and playing out the 'puja vidhi'. There is an exceptionally fascinating Katha behind this fast.
A long-time earlier, there was an extremely wonderful princess named Veeravati, who was married to a rich King. According to the usual tradition amid those days, the day of Karwa Chauth arrived, and the queen went to their parent’s house. She was actually enthusiastic about Lord Shiva and Parvati, and therefore, chose to perceive the Karva Chauth fasting. She woke up at sunrise and began the fasting, and started worship and pujas. The entire day she didn't eat anything and, in this manner, turned so weak and fell unconscious. According to the custom, food should be shared simply subsequent to looking at the moonrise. Her cherishing siblings couldn't bear the pain of seeing her unconscious and thus, made a fake scene of moonrise by lighting a light on the hill and asked Veeravati to drink water and finish up her fast.
Because of the falling-out of the fasting rule, quickly just after breaking the fast ahead of time, the queen heard the news of her better half's sudden death. As she was violent and coming back to the kingdom, she had the vision of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva on the way. When she begged them to interfere in the issue, excuse and re-establish her better half back to life, they surrendered. With the favours of Shiva and Parvati, her husband has regained the life but had fallen truly sick with no cognizance. His entire body was discovered pierced with sharp needles. With her continued endeavours, the queen figured out how to expel one needle per day. Toward the year's end, just a single needle was left. Veeravati left to the market to purchase Karwa for the puja.
The housekeeper worker evacuated the last one needle and the queen recaptured his life and got back his wellbeing. He mixed up the housekeeper for the queen and made the queen his servant. Veeravati truly served the king as a housekeeper dependably all the year. The next Karwa Chauth day arrived, and the queen got ready for the fasting function. She bought two similar dolls and put them close to the holy place. She began singing the melody "Roli ki Goli ho gayi... Goli ki Roli ho gayi" implying that the queen has turned into the housekeeper and the maid has turned into the queen. The kind asked Veeravati what the song implied. Veeravati portrayed everything that happened up until now.
The king valued the determination and self-control of the queen, in addition to her strong commitment. The dauntless confidence Veeravati had in Shiva and Parvati was vigorously appreciable and observed to be genuine.
The recognition of the Karwa Chauth fast genuinely regardless of inconveniences influenced her to get Gods' blessings in wealth. With the favours of Shiva and Parvati, the king and the queen cheerfully lived with happiness, wealth, bliss and success from that point.
