Short article by Adotrip.com

Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, the Kerala government has banned the gathering of more than five people at any place with immediate effect. This ban will continue to remain active until the end of this month.

The chief secretary of Kerala, Vishwas Mehta issued the order and stated, "in the light of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state public congregations’ gatherings pose an impending danger of a super spread of the infection.''

For implementing social distancing strictly within the state, section 144 of the criminal procedure code has been implemented with immediate effect. As of now, the district magistrates will be doing a proper assessment of their respective regions at the ground level, following which, relevant orders will be issued for the containment of the virus.

Although with October, when several states are in the preparations of Unlock 5.0, Kerala will once again witness a complete standstill of activity. Because of this decision of the Kerala government, many economic and travel activities will have to be shut again.
