Narmada district is an administrative district in the state of Gujarat and is known for the beautiful Narmada river which is India’s one of the only two rivers that flow from east to west. The district is also home to the largest statue in the world - Statue of Unity.
The city of Rajpipla is the district headquarters of Narmada District and is also the nearest city to the Statue of Unity. The destination is one of the least populated districts in the state of Gujarat and is surrounded by the Vadodara district and Maharashtra.

Till the year 1997, Rajpipla was the name of the present-day Narmada District, but in 1997 Gujarat government carved out 6 new districts which were Narmada, Nandod, Dediyapada, Tilakwada Taluka, and Sagbara Taluka. Rajpipla was made the headquarters of Narmada District. The present-day Narmada district comprises 222 village panchayats and 562 villages.
The newly developed tourist destination in the state of Gujarat is the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue has been named Statue of Unity and is the tallest and the grandest statue made in the memory of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue is 182 meters in height.
It is one of the prominent and biggest dams in the state of Gujarat. It supplies water and electricity to many nearby villages and states. Sardar Sarovar Dam was a dream project of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and is also one of the popular tourist destinations of Gujarat as well as for tourists coming from all around India.

Vadodara Airport (BDQ) is the nearest airport to reach Narmada District. It is considered the third busiest airport in Gujarat. After deboarding your flight, you will need to cover another (approx) 97km to reach the main district by locally available transport such as a taxi or a bus. The airport receives regular direct and connecting flights from all parts of India hence booking tickets would not be a problem.
Vadodara station is the nearest railway station and provides train services from various major cities of India. From the Vadodra station, one has to take a taxi or a bus to cover another (approx) 90km to reach the Narmada district.
Travelling by road is a journey full of adventures as one gets the opportunity to visit the villages, eat at roadside Dhabas, enjoy driving at the national highways, and capture the serene views of farms on both sides of the road. Tourists may either take the inter-state tourist bus to travel to Narmada district, Gujarat, or may take their personal vehicle.
