1. The very first LGBTQ+ museum should be up and ready for the public in 2024 in New York City. As per the reports, the New York Historical Society is planning to expand around 70000 ft to make space for the all-new American LGBTQ+ Museum.
The brand new LGBTQ+ museum will take over the New York Society’s fourth floor and get a roof garden, along with two galleries. It will also have a space for storage and a few offices and it will be designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects. If everything goes as planned, you can visit the museum by 2024. This museum will be dedicated to the culture and history of the LGBTQ+ community.
2. Since the government of Himachal Pradesh has given some relaxation in COVID restrictions, the state has been witnessing a surge in visitors. Sanjay Kundu, Director General of Police, informed that a record number of 18500 visitors have been coming to Himachal Pradesh per day, whereas almost 7500 have been visiting the famous tourist attraction Atal Tunnel Rohtang.
He mentioned that the police have managed to successfully tackle the challenge posed by visitors coming to Himachal amid COVID-19
Also, he added that they have never witnessed so many people coming to Himachal Pradesh at once. Given the current situation, Jairam Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh said tourists can’t be stopped from entering the state; however, necessary regulations should be followed.
3. Have you ever thought about covering a distance of more than 1400 kilometres in just three hours? Well, it is now possible to do so in China as it introduced the world’s fastest maglev train with a top speed of 600 km/hr! On Tuesday, China removed the curtains from the world’s fastest train.
4. Canada is about to reopen its borders to revamp international tourism from September 7. As per the reports, borders will be reopened for international tourism, if the domestic epidemiological situation remains favourable. For fully vaccinated travellers, it is some good news as they will be able to travel to Canada from September.
Travellers wanting to visit Canada must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before their departure. Also, tourists must take note of the vaccines that are recognised by the government of Canada. The recognised vaccines are - Johnson & Johnson, BioNTech, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca/Covishield.
