The minute I decided to explore the ruins of Indian Monuments, something clicked my mind - everything's made to meet its end. But then, these architectural gems were the epitome of beauty in the initial days of their construction and that is what inspired me to check them out in person.
When it comes to exploring India, happiness can be seen in my eyes. It is a land of history and heritage and that is why people from across the globe come here to witness the same.
While witnessing different shades of India, I fortunately managed to explore the history too, through the ruined forts that were the result of a thoughtful outcome from the-then rulers of India. I got totally awestruck by the local stories behind the establishment of these forts and they will live with me forever.
But what really slowed me down was the critical condition of these forts. Despite this, I took a tour of them because of their breathtakingly beautiful architecture.
Well, all of it was extremely mind-boggling for me. If you also hold the same instincts of touching the nerves of these forts, well, you need to read this blog thoroughly then. Here, I have explained exceptional facts about each fort.
Let’s explore these forts through words.
Here, I resonated with what the locals had to say that it is a Bhoot Bangla. Well, I was very curious to know if something mysterious is coming my way. Apart from that superior feeling, I really got chills down my spine while entering this ruined fort. Those silent walls, looked like they were coming close to me with screaming mouth. Definitely was scary! But, no matter what, the curiosity was bigger than fear.
The amazing thing was the history of the place. Well, I don’t want to ruin your curiosity. You will love to dig the history on your own. This popular yet decaying fort was not like that in the 17th century. Built in Indian architecture style, it included temples, palaces, and Havelis. The fort was built by Man Singh I for his grandson Bhan Singh I. after the death of Man Singh I, the fort was named after Bhansingh I. This probably is the reason, this region is also called Bhangarh in Alwar district of Rajasthan. Ghost stories were amazing. Raat ko Man Singh ghumte hain haveli mein
You already know, India is amazing. The ‘undying faith to hope’ is inspirational for the world and for me too. When I entered the Ahilya Fort, I could feel the power of feminism. Here, I got a feeling that women have always been one of the strong pillars of the society and that can absolutely be seen in this Fort which was built by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar on the banks of Narmada River. She was best known for her efforts towards establishing cottage industry which is the reason for today’s rapid growth in cottage industry. Apart from this, I loved the Shiva Temple that was built out of her faith in God where the idols of the the great lord in gold and silver are breathtaking. The Maratha architecture is absolutely amazingly used in carving the temple.
The natural resources are worship worthy according to Kashmiri Hindu culture and Martand Temple is one of the best examples on this earth. Dedicated to Sun God, you will feel the sense of divinity and oneness here. When I was roaming in the temple, I got my nerves down while seeing the decay of the temple. But, that’s how reality works, right? Though, the deprived one was holding the solidarity of its existence in the form of beautiful sculptures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
That was really fascinating for me. Built in the medieval age, sometime between the 7th and 8th centuries, I gave a walk around the courtyard of the temple and could feel that many decisions might have been proceeded from here to the system. I could definitely feel the unsound voices of history through the broken walls of the temple. The journey to the Anantnag district of J & K kept me thrilled.
Pala Dynasty rulers kept on providing heritage to this incredible country known as India. One of the emergences were the Maluti Temple in Jharkhand. Housed with almost 72 temples, the chunks of odes from the epic Ramayana are here in the beautiful sculptures on the walls of the temple. Extremely aww-jaws! But, now the temples are in the ruined condition that should definitely adhered by Jharkhand Tourism. But, this might seem impossible as Global Heritage Fund has declared it to be one of the 12 worldwide sites that are close to irreparable loss.
India Is The Hub Of Architectural Wonders!
Well, roaming to these four states really improved my level of understanding and I definitely learned a lot here. But, I know India is a country with full of surprises and I am sure that I will keep on bestowed with an abundant number of revelations! Hoping to explore more!
